AFW's Social Conscience
Application Frameworks is an enlightened company with a social
conscience. Through our comprehensive social responsibility program
we aim to give a little back to society for the prosperity we have
achieved. This program consists of a number of days of paid social
responsibly leave for each employee where he/she can work for a
registered charity and a number of goodwill grants that are distributed
on a monthly basis.
One of the events we attended this year as part of the Application
Frameworks social responsibility leave program was the 567 CapeTalk
Radio (http://www.capetalk.co.za)
and Habitat for Humanity (http://www.habitat.org.za)
Big Build 2004, where ten houses were built in five days for ten
families in Masiphumelele, a township near Noordhoek. Habitat for
Humanity is a network of NGOs dedicated to eliminating sub-standard
housing in the country. Last year we attended the SPCA Golf day
where we sponsored a number of employees to play the game for charity.
Some of the charities Application Frameworks support’s:
• "The Chris Hani Independent School", a self funded
school taking care of children in the Langa Township, Cape Town.
• St Luke's Hospice (http://www.stlukes.co.za)
an organisation taking care of patients with terminal illnesses.
• Cape of Good Hope SPCA, an organisation taking care 100,000
animals. It receives no government funding and is entirely reliant
on public funding.
